How to Install Windows 8.1

Windows 8.1 is an operating system developed and distributed by Microsoft. It's most talked about feature is its customizable and user friendly interface design. The requirements for Windows 8.1 are virtually the same as for Windows 8. If your current machine can run Windows 8, chances are it can also take Windows 8.1. The great thing is that the software is free to download and install.

Method -1 : Downloading Windows 8.1

 

1. Click the Store. Locate this on the "Start" screen.

 

2. Select the Windows 8.1 update from the "Store" screen. The update is featured on the home page of the Store. 

 

 

3. Tap or click “Download.” The update will download in the background. You can still use other apps while downloading.  

 

 

4. Restart the computer. After downloading, you will be given 15 minutes to finish whatever you are doing. If you are not doing anything, you can go ahead and click “Restart now.”

• The boot up will take longer than usual as the updates are being applied.

Method-2 : Finishing Installation

 

1. Accept the license terms when prompted.

 

 

 

2. Accept express settings. You will be presented the recommended settings. You can choose to accept it, or you can even change it at a later time.

• Click “Use express settings” to accept the recommendations.

3. Sign in with your Microsoft account. That’s it, you’ve just updated your computer. Enjoy Windows 8.1!
